Interesting - but if Blueberries were the ONLY fruit that they were testing I'd question the results. Surely adding ALMOST ANY fruit to the dry "rations" that the animals were fed would show some health benefits...

Blueberries are both nutritious and delicious, I started eating them when I was told they help promote eye health and eat them everyday with my morning porridge, the cholesterol effect will be a bonus should this found to be the same in humans.
Customer helplines that use recorded menus that promise to put me through to the right person but never do - and being ill. Oh, and did I mention customer helplines :)
I like blueberries but like Patch wonder what would happen if they were fed other fruits or parts of fruits or even chocolate which also has high levels of various flavonoids and polyphenols.
The research is directed at being able to promote blueberries ie increasing the market. (perfectly valid motivation)
Identification and recovery of the effective bioactive polyphenolic compound
from this byproduct could benefit producers and processors economically and provide opportunity for the development of food products that promote health.
