Hi everyone-

Can I just say how awesome this community is!

I am in the blurry vision stage and was wondering if anyone had any advice. I am currently wearing reading glasses which helps.

Any other advice?
Best,
Rona

Don't go to the opticians for an eye test and order new glasses like I did ... two weeks later when they arrived my blurry eyes had changed again ...it takes time, I have no advise, I used the reading section of my verifocals to drive!

Hi @Rdan, could I ask what your blood sugar readings have been like lately, especially during blurry vision? Blurry vision can be caused by high readings, but once they are under control, the blurry vision should improve, not necessarily immediately. At the age of 13 I was a poorly controlled type one and noticed that I couldn't read the large station signs on the opposite platform. The optician couldn't understand this because the eventual test showed nothing wrong. I now know that my blood sugar must have been reasonable at the time. There were no testing meters in 1971! Hope all goes well

I was just diagnosed so my numbers went from 400s to less than 180. My doctor said that for a few weeks its normal to have blurry vision due to drastic changes in my bs.

I got my eye exam and all looked good.

Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback. My doctor says I just need to wait.

Have you had your diabetic eye screening test?

Hello-

Yes I had them tested last Friday and they said no eye damage. I was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago so my dr says it takes some time for blurry vision to go away. It was in the 400s and now under 180 for last two weeks. Thank you.

The blurriness will disappear, so manage the best you can for now, and then see if you need new glasses when it is better. Not a lot you can do until then.
