Bolus needs to be more the double ?

Hi has anyone else had problem that the bolus has to be doubled sometimes trebled ?

Over the past month or so I have found that my bolus needs to be at least doubled and sometimes treble what I normally take. Anybody else have this ? Am I becoming insulin resistant ?

When were you diagnosed? Have you been ill or under any stress recently?

@Bobos2121 you don't say if you are pump/mdi. In my case I would go back and check my basal level first - if the basal need is changing it will affect how well your bolus 'appears' to be working.

At any time in the past month have you tried a new humalog cartridge? Likewise, have you changed your Lantus cartridge to make sure that there's not an issue with the potency of either insulins?

Only time my bolus doses increase a lot is during illness and when eating a meal which is high in fat.

I would suggest you do some basal testing just to make sure it's not your basal dose that needs increasing as it may just be that your increased bolus doses are compensating for it.
