bp

below about 140/80 (both figures)

130/80 for those with diabetes, my own gp likes mine to be nearer 130/70 but 130/80 is the official bp target for all people with diabetes.

Blood pressure isn't dependant on being Type 2 diabetic, it is related to things such as your age, weight and the level that your doctor would like you to be, depending on what other problems you may have. I would say that your GP or diabetes specialist should be the ones to give you this info

Mine is 117/64 which at the age of 53 and no blood pressure medication isn't bad.

Excellent! Mine is about that but with Canesartan and Ramipril (and I'm only 45)!!

It depends on your age and other factors. I've always been told to aim to keep it below 120/80. As I'm late twenties my DSN has always told me that they would expect those figures, the lower one in particular, to be even less than that. The last time I had mine checked it was 110/65. Em

HI
Talking of blood pressure i had a letter from my thyroid doctor who is also my diabetic doctor saying i need to keep my blood pressure 130/80 and as it was 159/79 she has upped my candesartin from 2mg to 4mg.
I am 43yrs old so perhaps it does go on oyur age, just don't know.
Take care
Tracey
