Hi

Been working with Lantus and Nova Rapid for over a year now

Most Serious side effect I experience when taking insulin (Lantus and Nova rapid) is feeling brain dead. Can get confused and find something difficult which is normally easy

Definitely an unacceptable compromise.

Has anyone experienced this and found a way out?

Hmm, well if you are sure it is the insulin (nothing else changed at the same time?) can you ask to go back on the insulin you were on before?

I've had plenty of brain fog from low blood sugar but not from insulin in itself. (I use lantus and humalog)

Yes it is the insulin.I Cycle off of lt using keto or fasting in order to maintain mental health.

I tried humulin by itself briefly and found the issues worse

I have never tried humiln with lantus

Eating more carbs helps a bit but the end result is a higher A1C .

Endocrinologist claims I shouldn't have to eat more carbs and should not have mental side effects like I do.

I will be throwing it back in his court..possibly changing Dr to get a different outlook.

I am thinking of a type1 type 2 combo

thanx!
