I have a Medtronic Veo pump and real time sensor boxed and brand new. Its never been used and still has all the seals etc.

I had it delivered and then changed my mind.

Its a Paradigm Veo Minimed Pump. Boxed and unused with Minilink Real Time Transmitter for CGM also boxed and never been used with Medtronic 503 remote control, Medtronic Carelink USB software and brand new unopened Contour link glucometer which works remote with the pump.

I will give this to a person who is ALREADY on the minimed pump, who is trained on it and who knows how to use it. You will have to show that you are already using this pump before I hand it over.
Id prefer to give it to a parent who has a child already on it as a back up pump or to an elderly person who is already on this pump and who also may want a back up.

I will not entertain giving it to anyone who is not already on the pump and who has not had full training.

And before anyone sends me messages saying that it belongs to the NHS etc.... It does not. It belongs to me. I spoke to my diabetes nurse and this is why I will only give it to somebody already on this specific pump. You will need to prove it before handover.

Collection from Battersea in person.

Why the change of mind ?
Have you considered giving it a trial run first, could still give it away after if your still sure you wouldn't require it.

i got the Omnipod. Started on it yesterday.
i just cant deal with the tubing but I am aware theres loads of people who dont mind the tubing and who are used to it. The continuous glucose monitor is great tho but can only be used with the minimed pump so no point holding on to it. Id rather give it to a good home to somebody who would use it.

Re: Brand new Paradigm Veo & MiniLink Real Time sensor 4 FRE

Makes sense now lol. Know what u mean about the tubing. Have the combo pump with tubing, tubing not a big issue but would obviously rather not have it. Hoping when my pump is due to be changed that I can have the omnipod next. Few years left on this pump yet though. Is the omnipod blue tooth controlled via handset

Re: Brand new Paradigm Veo & MiniLink Real Time sensor 4 FRE

the Omnipod is great. You basically inject the insulin into the pod. Stick the pod onto your body. You have a PDM...press a button and the canula inserts. Feels like pricking your finger.
Everything is wireless between the pod and the pdm. The pdm is also a glucometer so when you test you just press confirm buttons and insulin is delivered.

Hi swbloke

There are loads of pumpers who live around the London area who would no doubt, love to have your pump as a back up. If you don't succeed in finding someone, you could contact INPUT and they would take the pump off you to keep as a back up if someone's pump goes wrong. My advice is that you hang on to it as you never know but the pod might go wrong and need to be replaced and some pump companies might dilly dally over sending out a replacement.

Re: Brand new Paradigm Veo & MiniLink Real Time sensor 4 FRE

To be honest, Id prefer to give it to a parent who has a diabetic kid already on this pump and who may like the continuous glucose monitor too.
I am sure some parent will contact me soon.
Thanks for the advive tho

Re: Brand new Paradigm Veo & MiniLink Real Time sensor 4 FRE

Hi,
I'm Egyptian and new to this forum - I'm deeply interested in your generous offer, I am currently willing to change from multiple injections to pump system. I really need this pump since we are not covered by any health insurance here in Egypt and we have to self fund it, this is far beyond my financial limits. I comprehend your concern to give it to someone who is able to use it because this is a prescription medical device. If you agree in principal I will be glad to send you a prescription from my diabetic doctor and have it signed or stamped from my health care provider, I will be attending a comprehensive diabetic program with Medtronic and be trained to use the pump.
age: 44
type 1 since I was 7 years old.
27 units Novorapid + 15 units Lantos
frequent hypoglycemia.
HBA1C 9.7
have changed my insulin and my dose 4 times in the last 2 years without any progress.
Kidney problems and Neuropathy are beginning to show up.
My Regards.

Hi Mario

The pump is only available to somebody who is already on this pump as a back up and preferrably to a child or an elderley person living local in London.

Re: Brand new Paradigm Veo & MiniLink Real Time sensor 4 FRE

Hi sw11bloke,
I'm glad you finally found someone, thank you anyway. but I wonder did you give up using the CGM? Because I know the Omnipod doesn't have an integrated one, the point is that I finally discovered that it is the CGM which costs a lot for the initial purchase and for the running monthly cost as well, so I wonder if I drop the idea of using a CGM, in that case perhaps a normal pump will be affordable for me, but can the pump alone make a difference and will I be able to get my HBA1C below 7, any advice?

Just wanted to publicly thank you for all the equipment that you have given us. You are one in a million and it just goes to show that there are genuinely lovely people out there. Thank you.
There should be a place in the forum for people to give or ask for equipment they are not using as you end up with loads of finger prickles etc that you don't want it need and you can't give them back.
