bread versus cracker

My problem is I'm a bit of a bread-aholic but I also like crackers. I've found a delicious rye crisp bread, really nice with a bit of cheese spread! Which would be better for you?
I also have found that the Polish shop in town sells a delicious white/rye flour bread with sunflower seeds. The only problem is there are no carb quantities in it. Also it doesn't appear to have sugar in it as this doesn't appear on the list of ingredients.
I presume this will just be a trial and error thing but as I'm new to this game just thought I'd ask.

Rye (wholemeal) bread would probably be about 50 carbs/100g.
Crackers are listed as around 60 carbs/100g.

For me they would both be classed as high carb. The carbs can vary from brand to brand - you will have to check the nutrition information on the product packaging.
I would only have small amounts if my BG level was low.

Hope that helps.

I too would find those foods too high in carbs, but I think rye bread is lower Gi than wheat. Tastes better too.
Try baking Fergus's loaf. It's delicious.
Recipe in food threads. Wheat gluten is difficult to find. I use low carb megastore for it.
