Breaded Fish

My father in law has type 2 diabetes diagnosed after a fall on Monday. He wants to stay with us for a few days and has asked for Mash Peas and Breaded fish for his dinner.
Is this meal OK to give him? I am VERY new to this. Was concerned about the breaded part of the fish, and the mash. this is all very confusing stuff. I think I need a book!

All fairly starchy stuff. Assuming he's been put on a suitable treatment regime, that dinner would be good for him.

I think plain fish would be better but a 150g plaice in batter is about 13gC
Med portion peas = 7g (70g)
100g mashed potato = 20g
so the total is less than 40g - depends what he has been prescribed.

I have a problem with breaded fish and older people - they seem to love it. But it is easy to cook!

Dislikes
soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
I love breaded fish too and I'm only 61. If I have it, It will be the only carb on my plate

actually that is often what I tell people to do.

Also for very elderly people - like a lady i saw last week who was 86 the advice i feel needs to be realistic -they often tell me they are going to eat what they like - so we may just aim to cut out sugar in tea etc!
