Hi all
Just weighed in after coming back from hols.
As the hotel had a good deal with breakfast included I though I would experiment a little whilst away.
I never usually eat breakfast and just have lunch (sometimes) and dinner.
The hotel had a stupendous breakfast buffet including freshly cooked omelettes so I though I would try an almost zero cab approach.
Had bacon, eggs, ham and cheese in some combination every day.
Maybe a late afternoon snack of more cheese
Evening meal consisting of primarily meat and fish (usually prawns and beef) a couple of times I asked for extra butter.
On the last night (sunday) we pushed the boat out and had starters of mussels, squid, prawns wrapped in serrano ham and garlic mushrooms followed by a mixed grill.
So the damage......
I put on 0.8 of a pound.
Also drank copious amounts of coffee with the highest fat content cream I could find (about 35% fat).
Apart from a long walk on the first morning we didn't really do much more exercise than the usual dog walking apart from one afternoon where I got carried away and went to the hotel gym!
I was expecting to have gained a few pounds at least as I ate way more than I usually do.
I think I have found a maintenance diet for when I get to my target weight.
It's funny isn't it - I find that holidays don't do much damage even when I relax my way of eating a bit - in fact the first holiday I had a year after diagnosis I lost 6lb - wish it was like that now though - I have to reduce my fats and calories to lose weight now well done on the gym - did you have a brain burp? hehe - sounds like you had a wonderful time and that last meal made my mouth water!

Not sure why I had to urge to gym... just did 60 minutes of fairly relaxed cardio..
The last meal was truly amazing.. and the mixed grill with 2 types of steak, lamb, pork and 2 different chorizo style sausages was excellent. Hubs had the chips and we both left the veg!
The answer to the 'coincidence' is like all of us who do fasting as part of our lifestyle, is you are never far away from the next one!
My next all day fast is tomorrow, as I have a working day, but only for a few hours and have many errands and jobs to take my mind off food!
The weird (ha!) thing is my energy levels will be brilliant tomorrow as I'm not eating!

That's a brilliant result, Mark. Nice to know you can relax, eat tons of gorgeous low carb food and don't have to fear the scales. A bit more portion control and fasting now you're back in the real world, and the weight hopefully will continue to peel off.
LCHF really and truly is a lifestyle rather than a diet, and it's not even tough to stick to! I'll be really interested to see how you get on with zero carbs. I'm going that way, and don't miss the veg except in stews/casseroles.
