Breakfast Biscuits

I'm looking for some advice please.

I'm not that good with having breakfast although I know it is important particularly with diabetes.

My wife has recently bought me some Belvita biscuits (as advertised on TV) which i am now taking into the office and eating with my first coffee of the day. They taste nice - a little sweet in fact. I'm afraid I'm not good at understanding the nutrition info on the packets though.

What I'm getting at is are they OK for us ?

Thanks

FM

hey, i have those too :D they are quite healthy biscuits as they are made with wholegrain and have fibre and vitamins, they also release the carbs slowly over 4 hours so it shouldn't spike your levels. Don't have too many though, i don't have biscuits for breakfast but i find them quite useful during the day if i want a healthier biscuit instead of one covered in cream or chocolate :D also nairns oat biscuits are quite healthy biscuits as they are low sugar and low fat, they are very nice as they come in many flavours. i like the ginger flavour and mixed berrie flavour.

Thanks CR741 that's interesting information - will try Nairns as well. Gingernuts were always my favourite and I thought they were now history for me !

I read that they were 8.6 carbs, 2.4 sugar and 1.9 fat per biscuit.

Might be alright if you add some cheese or ham but what a boring breakfast and I am sure one wouldn't be enough.

Just found out my favourite ginger biscuits which I have with a cup of tea are 7.2g each. And sometimes (often) I have 2 - not any more :(
