Breath test to spot type 1 in Children

Acetone on the breath thought that was as old as the hills.

Seems a bit late to wait until you can smell acetone on their breath - might as well wait for them to fall into a coma before you do anything.

That's what happened to my little granddaughter, she was 2 1/2 years old. Stupid doctor in A & E said she had a viral infection, dad told her back home and all hell broke out in the middle of the night, and she ended up in HDU, oxygen mask on, tubes coming out of her, absolutely devastating and heartbreaking at the time.
