Hi,
has anyone come across Brenda Davis and her research?
she has a few books.
I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on what she has to say.
cheers Nick

She is a vegan authoress. Her book Defeating diabetes was published in 2003 so is a bit dated now. It is actually a co authorship with Tom Barnard MD. She is a Registered Dietician. I strongly suspect tht the study she refers to is the Neal Barnard study, which we know about and have discussed elsewhere in the Forum.

Its all so interesting. I have read this book 'Death to Diabetes'.Author DeWayne McCulley. He went into a diabetic coma
with a blood g!ucose level 1337 - more than twelve hurndred points above normal + with other complications as well. Yet he survived. And lived to tell tale.I was wondering if anybody as read the book.

We always question e everything don't we. Is that the best book. Etc.etc. But in the end we must read all the books we can really and then decide for ourselves.

The book that worked for me was Blood Sugar 101 by Jenny Ruhl. I still apply the principles some 8 years later, and it still works for me. My sugar levels have been below the diabetes level for at least 7.5 years since gaining back control after some 30 years of diagnosis and denial, so I am no spring chicken.

Agree
Jenny Rhul's book was a game changer for me.
Hba1c in 2002 was 5.7 with very high blood sugars. After ups and downs and 500 MG's of Metformin for 16 years - about 4 years ago read "Your Diabetes questions answered"
So after 20 years current Hba1c 5.5 with no Metformin (for last 3 years).Still have morning blood sugars in the mid 6 but seldom exceed Jenny's targets. So a big thanks to this forum where I first heard about Jenny's books..
