i,ve been on meds for type2 for two months now,
i,ve noticed over that time that i,ve been getting small bruises, has anyone else had this problem?

Yes Ally, I've been taking metformin for a few months now and I have noticed an increase in bruising. I hadn't made any connection with metformin though until I read your post. I am also taking warfarin which is known to cause bruising too, so I had assumed it was just because of that, but my blood has not been too thin for several months so now I believe the metformin may have made things a little worse too. I currently have five bruises on my arm (from a thumb and four fingers) where someone gently held my arm one day last week.

You don't take the drug Warfarin by any chance, my late father was on this drug after having heart surgery and he would bruise quite easily.

I have bruised a lot in the last few years, before Metformin, and Im not taking any other meds,I put it down to age.

noblehead, no i don,t take warfarin
i was beginning to think i was the only one that had the bruises

Thanks Ally, it was just a thought.

Still mention the bruising to your Dr if it becomes a problem.
