Has anyone found cold weather has/is played all hell with their BS levels? Be it currently or in the past?

It is not unusual for weather to impact bg. It could be because we move less, get stressed by the ice and snow or something else.
Likewise, hot weather may impact bg.

I saw a rise during our heatwave last year. Havn't seen one because of this cold weather (yet).

Speaking as an insulin controlled diabetic I notice i need less insulin the warmer the weather is, the heat affects our blood vessels so insulin is transported around the body at a much quicker rate, the colder it is then the opposite happens.

I think I need slightly less insulin when it's cold, but not 100% sure, as this is only my second winter on insulin. Makes about as much sense to me as your theory, as keeping body temperature up in the cold is a form of exercise, or at least it burns calories.
Probably one of those things that can work either way.

Hi @Antje77 It can work the opposite way too - maybe you move more in the cold to stay warm and become less active the warmer it is, it's very much down to the individual but in answer to the question asked there definitely is a change in BG levels depending on the temperature :)

I have found that shivering can rapidly drive my level down...
