Just an idle curiosity question.

Regarding our Bs level's, I understand that we need to keep them down as much as possible with what we are eating, but can you tell me what the accepted levels are when checking Bs 2hrs after eating.

i.e my level before dinner was 5.6 +2hrs 8.4 I know these figures are high, but I am on about the space between the 2 figures, would you say that is a big jump between them? and if so what is the recommended gap?

There is no recommended gap, it is what fits in with the recommended levels quoted and your own personal choice. My ideal is pre meal bet 5-6 and 2 hrs after no more than 7.
What the figures indicate is that the carb content of the meal may need adjusting to lower the numbers if that is what you desire

My last HBA1C was 5.6 and my daily readings are within the ranges recommended for diabetics.
My next target is to get my readings to stabilise within non-diabetic ranges. I am advised that these are :-

Fasting : Under 5.5
One hour after meal : Under 7.8
Two hours after meal : Under 6.6

The non-diabetic HBA1C is under 5, which could be positively dangerous to aspire to for those of us who are in danger of hypo's. I am on diet and exercise, so dont see this currently as a personal issue, though I just doubt that I will get HBA1C below 5 and would guess that for diabetics, it is probably extremely rare?.

All the best - Steve.
