BS readings

Today would have been good except for the fact that I forgot to take my tabs before brekky and didn't realise until tea time.
Anyway
before brek..............6.7
after brek..................7.6
before dinner...........7.9
after dinner...............6.8
before tea..................6.1
just got to wait til 8pm for final reading. will update

If you're referring to your Metformin, they work cumulatively, so missing the odd dose will have virtually no impact on your bloods, and particularly in the immediacy. Do you feel your scores are more elevated than you were expecting?

Day 1 of reduced carbs, new meds and checking blood sugars before and 2 hours after meals

Before breakfast 7.8
2 hrs later 7.7

Before lunch 7.3
2 hrs later 7.1

Before dinner 5.8. I was gobsmacked, just stood there starring at the meter
Will update later.

Today's been an eye opener and it's fantastic to see a 5.8 on day 1

Are these readings ok?

6.2 fasting
missed after breakfast as stuck at ALDI- obviously meet a friend and chat in front of the chiller cabinets today- no point glowering at me when I glwoer at you for being so ignorant as to ignore me as I tried to get my shopping!
Missed taking pre lunch for some reason.
Post lunch 4,7
Late afternoon random test after a soy latte and 2 sqs chocolate 5
pre dinner 4.9
post dinner at 1hr 45 as desperate to have coffee and bath after 30 mins peddling 4.9

Only where the 7.6 and 7.9 are (after brek and before dinner) when comparing to yesterday
6.7 6.4 6.4 7.0 6.7 5.6

What did you do between after brekkie and dinner? Exercise? Something kept your post brekkie level up. How long a gap was there between the 2 tests?

Not a lot really. Mainly sat around reading and posting on here. Didn't even do my normal walk to town and back today.

A gap of about 4 hours between brek and dinner (lunch to some) in which time I had 2 cups of tea, no sugar, sweeteners nothing.

If you didn't have a walk you normally would have had, that's much more likely to be the reason than missing an isolated dose of Metformin, in my view. Some people walk, or peddle their exercise bikes to bring their numbers down. Gentle exercise tends to lower levels, whereas more strenuous exercise initially raises the levels, then they lower.

Ah right, that could be it then because my walk is about 4 miles in total and sometimes I even do the same walk in the afternoon.
Thank you for pointing that out.

Some people even do the stairs multiple times if the weather is awful.........
