I saw that. 6 ??????? Exits quickly off forum
YEP, 6 Jaffa Cakes..................purely for testing purposes you understand. Is there a particular reason you are testing at 2.5hrs? The normal time is 2hrs after your first bite. I would expect most low carb meals to have been virtually done and dusted by 2.5hrs. Especially white bread as it is a quick release carb, meaning it converts to glucose very fast, so is likely to peak earlier, but all that fat will have held it down a bit.

The reason I test every 2 1/2 hrs is because of what I've read on here. I've had days where I've tested at 2, 2 1/2, and 3 hrs and found that the 2 1/2 hrs is the peak for me (highest of the 3), so stuck to doing every 2 1/2 hours.
Well lets put it another way.....................and this afternoon I had only 1/2 a pkt of Jaffa Cakes instead of a full pkt. Wasn't I a good boy!I saw that. 6 ??????? Exits quickly off forum
I'll change my reading times to 2 hrs and see what readings I get compared to what I have been getting. Thank you.A lot depends on what you eat as to when you will peak, but generally speaking the actual peak is more likely to be at 1 hour, and on the way back down at 2 hours, even further down at 2.5hrs. The longer it takes to come down to acceptable levels, the worse it is. I suggest you go back to testing at 2 hours and aim for no more than a 2mmol/l rise between before and 2hrs after. If you have a very naughty Jaffa cake again, test before and 1hr after. You may be shocked.
I myself need to test at 2.5 hrs because I seem to get a spike at this time with some foods. Is there a particular reason you are testing at 2.5hrs? The normal time is 2hrs after your first bite. I suppose we're all different. It happens with most foods with me. Even last night with a fry up.
