BS readings

@ally1 I understand how hard it is to say no sometimes, I struggle myself. Today I had dinner at my parents roast beef and even though I said not to, my dad put two roast potatoes and two Yorkshire puddings on my plate and like a lamb to the slaughter I ate them and thoroughly enjoyed them if I am honest. Pre lunch I was 6.2 2hrs late I was 9.6... My body doesn't like being high anymore and I had a terrible pressure headache all afternoon.

After a little sleep in the bath when I got home lol I am now down to 4.8 before my tea. Think I too need to practice saying no.....:)

well i was very surprised, i ate the biscuits at 3pm and at 6.30 pre tea 11.9, post tea 13

i was expecting my readings to be higher
time to do the housework

Ally, your reading of 11.9 was 3 and a half hours later and well on its way down. Goodness knows what it was at 1 hour and 2 hours after you ate them. Please have a word with your neighbour before your next afternoon cuppa. We are only trying to help. :)

Great results for your breakfast Ally...

I tried something new this morning.. I was 6.6 pre breakfast and 8.0 after...grrr I think the 1.4 BS rise is okay on the whole...but its given me a bit of pressure headache and I didn't enjoy the breakfast either... whats more all I can think about is shortbread biscuits. lol:(

kezzer, my morning readings are in my mind still high but they are coming down

Hi Ally, what you need to celebrate is the fact that they are coming down...Its a struggle everyday for us diabetics not to fall back into the old habits... god knows I buried my head in the sand for long enough. I think your doing amazingly well and before you know it, I am sure your reading will be down to where you want them :)

Oh dear. Not good. Our neighbour killed himself in February completely out of blue and it does shake you. X

so sorry about your neighbour alliebee, thinking of you

Ally1. Just a suggestion. You seem to have a good rapport with your neighbour. Why not make some low carb muffins and bring them along to your next visit. That way you can treat her/him and keep your blood sugar normal(ish).

I have to say that it's been a joy watching you get your levels down and under control. Your body will thank you so please continue the hard work. Sometimes it's a struggle for all of us.
