BS readings

What does it feel like (a liver dump) ?
Hi bluetit I think as usual it's different for everyone. I know when my liver dumb is happening because I get a headache right at the front of my forehead... If I go too low, I get hot and shakes. At the weekend when I try to have a lie in - it's usually the liver dump headache that forces me to get out of bed early.

Funnily enough I didn't have any of these symptoms until I started to get my bloods under control. It just goes to show how amazing our bodies actually are

5 at 3hrs as out at 2. Popped to friends then lost the will to live at an Asda self service checkout.
 
After my disastrous lunch readings after 2 poached eggs on 1 piece of seeded wholemeal toast with masses of butter in the café bar, better news this evening

5.4 before tea
6.0 at 1 hour
6.6 at 2 hours
5.3 at 2.5hrs

and I had bacon, egg, toms, mushrooms, 6 chips and half slice white fried bread.
There is no rhyme or reason to any of this.
 
But for a slight hump at lunch time it has not been a bad day. The lunch time hic up was a Slimming World HiFi bar, I had it without reading the small print on the side of the box (my thoughts being that it is part of a controlled diet food so what can be wrong with it, famous last words). Wont make that mistake again (well probably will but hey ho).

Pre Breakfast 6.8, 2hrs after 7.5
Pre lunch 5.7, 2hrs after 7.7
Pre evening meal 5.9, 2hrs after 6.5

Went shopping for the extra for Christmas tonight, if I can't avoid the temptation not to eat some of the cake we purchased, I don't think I will be posting on here for a few days :eek:
 
I knew they were a bit iffy but I just thought they were slightly better than than main stream cereal bars which in that case would of been ok with the bowl of home made soup I had. But this one (Rocky Road flavour) was horrendous, can't tell you exactly as the empty box went in the bin. We live and learn, you are never to old to learn

Then Oh dear. Went out to lunch with daughter, only to local café bar and wasn't hungry. I had 2 poached eggs on a single piece of bloomer wholemeal toast with loads of butter, and 2 glasses of tap water. Nothing else.
Didn't test before but average pre-lunch is 5.6
1 hour 7.6
2 hours 9.0
2.5hrs 9.6
3hrs 6.3 after a walk in a howling gale.

I often have this meal at home (with my own Hovis Seed Sensations) with never above a 1mmol/l rise at any time. I just do not understand why it went so high. Clearly the type of bread caused it, and according to the internet it is high in carbs, but even at 20g that was a ridiculous rise.

That must be SOOOOO annoying BT :) Glad it's dropped back :)

Sons girlfriend dumped him,stress.all you need for a good Christmas.

No more testing yet.

Blueberries ........ there was a discussion about these spiking people (including me) more than other berries. Experiments complete. It's the frozen ones that spike me. Fresh ones have very little effect (see my breakfast)

I spent a wonderful afternoon at the beauticians. Perfect manicure, soothing pedicure, and a full facial with head, neck shoulders and face massage. I feel rejuvenated, or at least I did till I left the shop to walk back to the car in a howling gale with driving rain. Drawbridge up for the night now, and a fish supper, which hubby will go for. I wonder if the massage has done anything to my BS. Possibly, just tested and I'm 6.0 which is high for me in an afternoon.

Post breakfast / pre lunch 6 which included a thick slice of spelt bread and a harassed dash round shops
Post lunch 4.5 after a lunch of two cheese portions , 2 sqs dark chocolate, soy latte and a sneaky thorntons dark truffle ( bit sweet)
Pre dinner 4.7

Now the 2.1 jump on the evening meal is big jump but you did not see the size of the indian takeaway I had, including rice and a poperdom (sp). Just need to hope it does not lead to ill effects pre breakfast tomorrow

Keep testing as rice can spike up to 4 or 5 hrs post meal!!!
