Hi All,

A quick one, I go to the gym & keep myself trim using weights , which I really enjoy. However I wondered which if any, supplements are suitable for type 2 diabetics?

I did use Whey Isolate Protein, and also some creatine (pre) post work-out, as its low sugar/carb, although Jason Fung mentioned that protein can/does turn to glucose, so I kerbed that back in October, through no adverse effects or readings mainly to see if anything altered, which it doesn't seem to have.

The protein in chicken/fish etc.. is minimal so wondered if anyone followed a similar workout route/regime & had found a balanced supplement that helped them build the body they're after?

Yes protein can be converted to glucose, but as far as I am aware it is very difficult to build muscle without it.
As you say Whey Isolate is low in carbs compared to others and is what I personally would go for.

Thing is I think is to treat it like any other food and test that is eat to your meter.

I have added between 3 and 4 kgs of muscle just by doing LCHF, I have 3 body composition scales so know it is muscle not fat.

I just try and beast mode the workouts. I have biased towards fish. I would not supplement.

Thank you for the feedback everyone :) - food for thought there, so the protein even through an isolate whey isnt so bad.

I do eat fish/chicken through the week although not in the quantity to provide enough for my exercise/muscle regime, a top up is something I'll try again, and see how it goes in relation to my levels on a day to day basis.

Buying some composition scales could be a plan, as I'd like an mri to see if and how much fat may be blocking my liver/pancreas etc.. although the nurse looked at me in such a way, and said she couldnt justify it. I see where she's coming from money wise, so the scales could be the next best thing unless I went private but dont know where to start there.

Thank you Christina for the heads up on Lidl rolls, I didnt know about those!
