I didn’t either. Until I moved there. Very few if any do. It is a British Crown Dependency though. But we digress. So apologies there to the OP.While we are discussing the IOM, how many, like me, didn't realise that it wasn't in the UK or the EU?
Okay. I did venture into Andreas one time. It’s a nice area.
What many will not be aware of is the Manx Mile, somewhat longer than the U.K. mile.. Though the flip side of that is the no speed limit on the mountain road.
I was lucky in that I was able to fall out of my office door into M and S.
I notice Amazon was mentioned in an earlier post but given that Amazon are challenged on delivery there and we are talking foodstuffs, then it might not be a workable solution.
How about the Noa bakery? They seem to be bread connoisseurs?

No I was pretty much next door to Victory House until June 2017. So it was down the steps past Cafe Delight, then to the back door of M and S.As answered above! I did as my Mum was Manx, but most folk don't understand. Or think we are the Isle of Wight. #sigh#. Mann is a special place, if you don't mind being marooned on a smallish island. We love it, been here 17 years.
I don't mind the thread drift - as long as interesting!
PS - Listlad - Lloyds?
NHS here did me proud when I mashed my foot (Lisfranc injury - V. painful) and earlier with hip surgery. It's better than the average Manxie would have you believe, they haven't experienced the UK version!
The Burgen is a fair size loaf and as only I eat it, I halve it and put some in the freezer. So a whole loaf lasts a couple of weeks, in fact I end up throwing a few slices away as I don’t eat it fast enough.Update.
Although the management were no help, a nice staff member this morning helped after I went to find the shelf empty yet again. There is more due later today, and she is going to put some aside for me to collect later. At last!
Burgen is actually a nice loaf.I'm off down to the bright lights of Ramsey to get it soon, I'll see how big the loaves are. Mrs NHN will likely eat it too if there's too much, but it will make a nice change for lunch if I can handle it. I use wholemeal pitta breads at the moment which are OK BG wise.
The Burgen Soya and Linseed loaf comes in two sizes, the normal one has 44g slices and I think the small version has 33g slices (that's total weight not carbs). The Burgen is a fair size loaf and as only I eat it, I halve it and put some in the freezer. Ah. I think I have only seen the larger size. The Burgen Soya and Linseed loaf comes in two sizes, the normal one has 44g slices and I think the small version has 33g slices (that's total weight not carbs).
I am surprised the boat was running today. It’s been pretty windy up here in the northwest. Kite festival cancelled10 mile wasted journey - none 'on the boat'. 'Maybe Wednesday' - when I'm at work..... #sigh#

Haha. Island life eh? Nice one. Yes, quite a tasty loaf.Success! Finally, I managed to get three loaves this evening, and as someone said above, it is indeed a very tasty bread. It was even tastier when you haven't had as much as a crumb of bread for two months!
Thanks all for guidance and comments.
I do the same with our breads as I only have a couple of slices a week. Why not just freeze the whole loaf, like I always do? Then I just help myself to a frozen slice when I want it. I always toast mine, so frozen isn't a problem, but a slice will defrost very quickly especially after a short blast in the microwave. We have always frozen our bread this way. I don't remember not doing. Mr Blue still eats his awful white bread, and his loaves sit alongside mine in the freezer. None wasted at all.
Only Sainsburys in my town sell Burgen, and only the larger of the two sizes. However, they haven't had any for a few months now so I assume they have stopped stocking it. I did once manage to find the smaller size in a different town when we were on holiday. I am now on Hovis Lower Carbs, which is smaller, and has less carbs.
