Me and my boyfriend only ever eat Burgen, it's the only bread he can eat (he's type 1). I just eat it cos it's yummy, nice with a poached egg on top!

Before diagnosis as a T2 I would eat lots of bread. Now I have a a maximum of 2 slices of whole meal. I'm going to try this Burgen bread today. My local Asda sell it at £1 a loaf.

I want to get my carbs intake down.

Dislikes
soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
Our local craftsman baker sells an oat loaf, which I can eat half a slice of without problems.
It tastes just gorgeous, so keeping to half a slice is DIFFICULT!
Otherwise, I bake the famous Fergus loaf. Ihad a copy of the recipe when it was taken down.
I need to order the gluten. Low Carb Megastore has emailed me to say they have stock now.

Now I know why Sainburys were sold out of the Burgen bread all gone Every one is buying it - when I went in loads of other bread but NO burgen. Luckily I had one in the freezer. Its great that at we have a bread that we can eat and our BS' are okay.

One thing I have noticed is that if you are out and you want something to eat there is nothing go into the shops that sell food and there nothing you can have. This came quite aparent when I was at the hospital and didn't get out until 1pm and needed some food but the sandwich shops etc all have nothing i can eat unless I was a high BS.

Enjoy your Burgen bread everyone
Sue :)
