Just bought a little butter maker from Lakeland. Highly overpriced, of course, for what it is, but saves mucking up a food processor for small quantities. Yes, I do know that butter is available in lots of shops, but I just wanted to have a go myself. I put in a cup of whipping cream (20p - reduced in Tescos) and five minutes later I have lovely fresh butter with sea sale crystals - and one hell of a bingo-wings workout.

Just looked it up on Lakeland.
Looks fab!

How much butter is formed in the ramekin?

Guessing here a bit. I reckon I put in about 225 ml of whipping cream. I initially put in the whole 300 ml carton, but removed some to allow space for it to 'slop'. From that I have got maybe 90 gm of butter. Colour has developed overnight from very white to butter yellow. I'm a sucker for a kitchen 'toy' anyway, but you do often find cream reduced to sell, so I shall swear that it saves me money!

It's easy enough, but a tiring and messy process. The gadget just keeps it contained and would also let you make small quantities often.
