Buying a BG monitor

Dear Forum
I think it's time I had a new one. Currently I have an Accucheck Active and the batteries are going.
What does the forum recommend please?

Do we all live in the UK? I do , so it would have to be something I could buy here.
 
I really like my FreeStyle Lite. It seems fairly accurate, and I've yet to experience any error messages or other issues.
 
If you like it, just replace the battery, no?

it also depends on how much the sticks are, if your not prescribed........

I use a contour usb and it has been brilliant........think the strips are about £25 for 50
 
I'd agree - definitely replace batteries if you like it!

Check the AccuChek website too as I know you used to be able to request free replacement batteries but I believe there are issues now with lithium ones not being allowed to go through the mail....

Dear all, thank you. This was my first post and it is great to have had such thoughtful and prompt replies. I was all set to get the meter recommended by Artisticforge because I do pay for the strips myself but it seems to have some accuracy issues. So maybe I'll stick with the one I have, now feeling reassured that it is not "old technology".
