Thanks rachox. I do have 2 meters, got an easy life one too which came with cholestrol tester but havent opened it yet! I might just do that and go for a hat trick. I will be spoilt for choice!!!Why don’t you consider spending around £12 for an SD Code Free instead. You’ll soon get your money back as the pots of 50 strips work out from £5.98 each if you order from Homehealth ( https://homehealth-uk.com/ ) and use these discount codes:
5 packs 264086
10 packs 975833
It’s a basic meter but does the job!
I have been buying mine for around £10 for 50 which i now know is daylight robbery!!!I have noticed that you are paying more for strips than we are in Australia.
Non NDSS members pay ~$60.00 for a sealed box of 100 strips in two 50 strip containers over the counter.
This mob are are charging ~£20.00 for a single container of 50 strips.

Just a note of caution: the standards for BG meters are +/-15%. This can lead to a wide variation. Thanks rachox. I do have 2 meters, got an easy life one too which came with cholestrol tester but havent opened it yet! I might just do that and go for a hat trick. I will be spoilt for choice!!!
Thanks for this info. I really like this meter but it's going to work out much more expensive in the lobg run (and I'm focused on it being a marathon not a race!). So the cheaper option is looking good but I have noted your comments. Thank you so much. Everyone is so helpful here. I really do feel part of the community.Just a note of caution: the standards for BG meters are +/-15%. This can lead to a wide variation.
Therefore, once you have decided on your favourite meter, I would advise sticking to it to ensure you are comparing apples with apples with each reading.
Helen, that is so true. I ended up with 3 different meters (one I bought myself pre diagnosis, one the Dr gave me and one the hospital gave me, all different makes). Whenever one showed low (say 3.2) I'd test with the other two which respectively showed anything between 2.8 and 4.1). They were all 'good' makes too. Funnily, no one of them was always showing the lowest or highest reading either, ie there was no real correlation between one always showing lower.Just a note of caution: the standards for BG meters are +/-15%. From the GlucoWise website:I’m looking for info on Glucowise meter which doesn’t use test strips at all. Not sure if available yet.
