Hi

I have been prescibed Byetta by my Dr as I was struggling to control my blood sugars with tablets alone, they were running between 15 and 21.5!

It seems to be ok, one day had a bit of an upset stomach and today feel a little nauseus but nothing that I can't cope with.

I am on the 5mg and I was wondering what other people's experiences of it are, did it help you loose weight?

I was on Byetta for three months: i month on 5ug and 2 months on 10ug; unfortunately, for me the nausea never went away, so I have just been swapped to Victoza to see if I tolerate it any better. However, the good news is that my HbA1c came down from 72 to 61, and my weight reduced by 3.5 Kg in that time; this means I passed the HbA1c 6 month target in just over 2 months, and am well on the way to hitting the 6 month weight loss target, too! Hopefully you will have similar success, and in your case the nausea will pass quickly.

Hi thank you very much for your reply. Hopefully I will get on with it as I have been advised that the next stop would be insulin and I really do not want to go down that route. I know that I am a fool to myself and do not take the illness seriously which is shocking to admit, hopefull this will help.
 
I was on Byetta and lost just over 2 stone. I didn't have any side effects either. It just curbed my appetite and I couldn't eat much unfortunately that feeling didn't last that long,
