I require a a knee operation and have had to stop execising. The result of this is that my blood sugars have shot up. i have been prescribed Byetta. what are your experience of Byetta
 
I was on Byetta for three months (1st month on half dose, then 2 months on full). The good news is that in that time my HbA1c dropped from 72 to 61, and I lost 3.5Kg in weight. The bad news is that my body never got to tolerate the Byetta.... I was constantly nauseous and found food hard to face, felt very bloated after meals, and had problems with acid reflux. Most people find these (common) side effects pass off fairly quickly, but they didn't with me, so I've now been switched onto Victoza, which seems to suit me a lot better in the short time I've been on it. I only hope I can sustain the weight loss now my appetite is more or less back to normal!
 
I was on Byetta had no side effects and lost weight on it, had to change to a once a day insulin.
