Caffeine free alternative?

I find drinking too much barista style coffee gives me mild acid reflux which then aggravates my tonsils. I'm fine with instant coffee.
I do love the faff of making barista style coffee and have the paraphernalia for grinding and brewing coffee beans. I have had to cut making my own coffee down to a few times a week.
Perhaps try moderation instead of complete abstinence.

Hello

I need to stop coffee and I wonder if there is any alternative that:
- has rich coffee-like taste with no carbs
- is coffee but has very very low caffeine if not zero

I am looking to buy in the UK so unfortunately any products outside won't help :(

Thanks!
I personally like Kenco Decaff (with the green cap to the jar), but as you know(?) flavour of coffee is a very personal choice! The Kenco Decaff is readily available throughout here in the U.K.
Hope this helps?

You can buy camp coffee. It tastes of coffee but is actually made from chicory so is caffeine free.
I have decaffeinated coffee all the time. You can also get dandelion coffee and chicory "coffee" from health food shops. Both are granules and both very tasty.

I love Lavazza decaffinated ground, and make it in a cafetiere. It is widely available in supermarkets like Asda and Sainsburys. It tastes really good and I don't think you would know it was decaf. I've tried others, but it is the best I've found. I don't think it tastes bitter by the way.

Be gentle with yourself if you are going decaf. I was totally shocked by how hard I found it, and I cut it down gradually over a month. At first physical symptoms like headache, but going from one cup of coffee a day with caffeine to none, I had no energy and really low mood for some time until I adjusted. I made the change as I had heard that all caffeine does is bring you back to the energy you would have if you didn't drink any (ie it compensates for caffeine withdrawl). I stuck it for a year and to be honest I didn't feel any different living without caffeine and have now gone back to drinking caffeine before lunchtime and decaf after to give me the best chance of a good nights sleep.

Good luck in your quest!

Azera decaf is nice, I like it quite strong, mix with Barleycup, (from health food stores), or Caro - enjoy

My husband is very sensitive to caffeine and finds a lot of decaf options still have too much. His go-to decaf is Kenco or M&S.
I don't know how cafetiere-brewed coffee compares, but with normal coffee a filter coffee has a lot more caffeine than an espresso because of the amount of contact time between the coffee and the water, I imagine it'd be similar with a cafetiere so...maybe be cautious with ground coffee.
