Diagnosed 2 years ago with T2' fasting 12.0, HbA1c 7.0 but within 10 days had fasting of 5.2 and 2 months later HbA1c 5.5 (and 3 stone lighter). No meds. Well controlled until last few days when 1 hour pp was 10.0. Also following morning fasting 7.5 when usually 5.5. Only thing I have changed is buying a coffee machine for Christmas and started drinking strong homemade coffee. No caffeine for 24 hours and 1 hour pp 5.9. Anyone else experimented with caffeine? I've seen some research showing that caffeine increases insulin resistance but didn't realise it can be so dramatic. Might try some more experiments.

There's been many a discussion on the forum about Caffeine and its effect on bg, some say they see a rise in bg after drinking caffeinated drinks and others don't, you may find the following article interesting that suggests type 2's may find it effecting bg control:

Aa a type 1 I never found that caffeine effected my bg, however I switched to decaffeinated tea and coffee around 2 years ago as I found that caffeine was irritating my bladder, if you purchase a good quality brand of decaff tea/coffee you will not notice the difference, obviously you don't get the caffeine kick that some desire but taste wise it's fine

Many months ago I had been getting rather sleepless nights, thanks to Noblehead I changed to decaf which solved my problem. Also my good wife gladly informed me that I had also stopped snoring. "Me snore never did"

Roy, :)
