Hi, is stevia and canderal the same? When making cakes the recipe says 100g of stevia, when I weigh out 100g of canderal is seems like far too much!!! Is canderal measured different?

I believe that Canderel do also make a stevia version, however you'll need to look at the actual content (try their website) to see what each contains.

However I'd be very suspicious of any recipe containing 100g of pure stevia as it's exceptionally sweet in its pure form, and a fraction of a teaspoonful would probably be adequate - too much can leave an unpleasant after taste! It's often combined with erythritol to bulk it out, but other fillers may be used instead so again check out content. Both erythritol and stevia are diabetic safe, and on their own or combined they won't raise your blood sugar levels; in combination they should generally taste slightly less sweet than sugar. But I'd suggest that you always add less and taste to check sweetness - you can always add more but it's difficult to take away too much!

I've been looking at different recipes this morning and Stevia is 200 times sweeter than sugar so 100g does seem like a lot. Have a look at the recipes on this site there are lots that look nice. I've just ordered some Stevia and Agave nectar from buywholefoodsonline.co.uk you get 10% off with code FB10OFF.
