Bascially I need some laser next week, I had scan, photos on eyes but as I get anxiety and stuff I walked out the hospital after about an hour, they rang me up saying I need treatment on the letter it says right eye- moderate NPDR (no csmo) and left eye csmo said I gota have focal laser. Not sure what this is but sometimes I do get bit fidgety when iam in the same places for long, any advice cheers

Hi,
Just from the information you have given, I think you have got Non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR), which means your retinopathy has no advanced to the very end stage where there is a proliferation of new leaky tender pre-mature blood vessels which might lead to blindness.
Though NPDR is less severe than the proliferative retinopathy, it is nevertheless Retinopathy and has to be treated as quickly as possible, because you seem to have developed a clinically significant 'macular oedema' (csmo) in one of the eyes and has to be corrected by surgery. The sooner the better.
