So I've been low carbing for 3 months now. They stupidly didn't include my blood sugars on my blood test but i got my cholesterol levels at least. If anyone could help me understand them I would be more than grateful.

Serum TSH level - 2.57
Serum lipids - 5.6
Serum triglycerides - 1.4
Serum HDL - 1.1
Calculated LDL - 3.9
Serum cholesterol/HDL ratio - 5.1

I can't speak for the TSH which is a thyroid function test as I don't have any experience.

All the lipids/cholesterol levels are within normal range apart from the total - but that is meaningless and nothing to worry about. The trigs and the HDL are the important ones. Your trig/HDL ratio is 1.3 which is slightly above the ideal level (0.87 is ideal) If you could get your HDL up a bit this would really help.

Hi,
The normal rage for the TSH level is 0.4 to 4.4 mU/L so you are nicely mid-range.
As said before this is your thyroid function test.
If you continue low carbing your cholesterol figures should improve in time (though they are not bad now).

Thanks guys. So I guess it's not as bad as I thought. But I'll keep doing what I'm doing
