Hello All,

just a question In my mind, can I say I am still in remission?

HbA1c 7.0 on 5th July
HbA1c 4.2 on 14th oct
HbA1c 5.1 on 21st Dec
HbA1c 5.3 on 15th Feb
HbA1c 6.5 on 14th Aug

Not really ...simply put.
Your 6.5% is borderline prediabetes/full T2 at 47.5 mmol/m

Edit to add .. under DiRECT study terms I guess technically yes..

So is it YES or NO
Depends on you.. if it were me I'd say no way. But then I disagree completely with n HbA1c of sub 48 mmol/m as being any kind of remission.
If you wish to be technically correct then only just by the smallest margin and in no way would I get complacent.

Why does it matter so much?
Your HbA1c was 47.5 mmol/m that's simply what it was and as it's higher than previous not going on the right direction.

Depends whose definition of remission you are looking at. There is no single agreed definition.

some are without any meds, some allow metformin
Some want non diabetic levels (but prediabetic is ok) others want “normal” levels.
some want a specific time spent at the designated levels.

Your levels are going in the wrong direction. You are now at diagnosis levels for T2. Seems to me not in remission, and given the increase you may need to see if there is a way to bring them back down
