Hello I'm off to the doctors soon
Can I demand all my blood test results from 2013
as I've never received a single one
And apart from the blood sugar meter sd code free I've ordered do I need a machine for my cholesterol.
Regards brian

I think you can yes.............

they will have a record of it that they could probably just print off possibly..........

here in Scotland we have access to a website that gives us all the test results in one place, HbA1c, Trigs, Cholestorol, Cresatinine, eGFR.......

So it is possible and will be there............you just need to ask for it......;)

They will have these, but you may have to stump up some money as you want them back for 2 years. At any time you want a print out, you have to ask. You won't be given them automatically. Also ask if your surgery participates in the Patient Access scheme whereby results are available on line. Some do, some don't, and some are in the midst of doing so.

You can get cholesterol measuring gadgets, but I doubt you would find one worthwhile. Regular checks by the surgery should be enough.

I asked and received last time I was at the surgery with the diabetes nurse. She could show me a nice screen with all the info I wanted but for some reason she said she couldn't print it out. Instead she printed out all my previous results from that surgery on by one in about 10 pages of info. Changed surgery 2 years ago before diagnosis. If you are at the same surgery they should have all our records. Didn't ask me for any cash for doing this but she was a bit amazed at my results after low carbing and ditching the metformin.

Just had a thought.. would be better if you asked nicely for your results.. usually gets a better response.

Waste of time that was feel really mugged off
Not my doctor tonight but a locum
Said my doctor would be back next week
And to ask him even the receptionist didn't want to know

Oh thats a bummer.. maybe demand them next time and I'll butt out hehe..If there's a diabetic nurse at your practice they should be able to access your records too so might be worth trying there if your doc isn't available. But then again couldn't the locum operate a print function..
