My LDL was 210 (I'm in the US) which is horrible. How is it that my triglycerides were completely normal though?

I've been doing LCHF for a few months now, it's actually improved my cholesterol numbers, the theory is by achieving good BGLs it benefits the whole cholesterol process.

Yes I've heard one theory that high cholesterol comes from high blood sugar so reduce the sugars and it will go down, not sure if its true or not but there's some anecdotal evidence out there.

I think you're more likely to have high cholesterol from high carb than high far

I can :D - my cholesterol levels have actually come down since low carbing.

That's a great video. Can't say I fully grasped all the LDL stuff, but I'll fill the gaps in later. Then again, it's a complex subject and most of the audience were doctors.

My total cholesterol has remained the same on a very low carb diet, but my goodness, the ratios have improved.

Several people have posted on the forum to say that their cholesterol levels have risen on LCHF. This is often during weight loss - which is perfectly understandable. After the weight loss things usually settle down.

If the concern is dairy fat, or saturated fats, then some switch to plant oils like avocado and nut oils and find their ratios and levels lower.

I particularly like this article. Zoe Harcombe is like a breath of fresh air in the atmosphere of outmoded irrational thinking that makes up most media chuntering on the subject.

The discussion in the comments below the article are worth reading too. Very interesting links.
