Type 2 Can I Eat This?

Recently, I just bought this biscuit from a mall. It seems to attract me because of "SugarFree". Here is the product ingredients:-

This is the nutrition fact:-

Can I actually eat more than 2 packets of it? Seems the carbs is quite high. Please advise :(
It is all about if you personally can eat them you will have to test to find that out. My husband actually has a couple of sugar free biscuits every evening with a cup of tea and they do not spike him

I see... Thanks. I shall do a test 3 hours later to see if that spikes my BG

Might not do you any harm. Probably wont do you any good - for all those carbs I would be wanting something more nutritious. Just my opinion.

They are 62% carbs, so 62% of the portion you eat are carbs. That is very high.
All you can do is test before and then 2 hours after first bite and see what happens.

It is basically a standard biscuit with sweeteners rather than sugar.
Still high carb.

But there are some people who can tolerate this kind of thing, although I am not one of them.

Why not buy a pack, try them and test? Although I suspect you may be disappointed in the flavour. The ingredients list doesn't look 'delicious' to me.

I tend to stop eating a food completely, rather than trying to find a low carb substitute. Or I do my own baking and food creation using really quality ingredients. You know what you are getting then, and can adjust the recipe to your personal taste. Of course, not everyone one wants that kind of phaff! lol.

Hi. Sugar-free products often substitute sugar alcohols e.g. Maltitol in place of sugar. These have around 50% of the carb value and are a laxative so do read the ingredients label.

carbs say they are 14g per serving ... depending on how low carb you are .. for me that would only leave me 6g of carbs for the rest of my day

If it is sweetened with maltitol I would be too busy in the bathroom to eat my other 6 grams:wideyed: Just not worth it.

I eat oatcakes which are unsweetened completely instead of biscuits and are low GI..

I do have the occasional rich tea biscuit they are about 6.9g carbs per biscuit but I try to fit that in with my daily allowance of carbohydrates.

There are of course biscuits and cereal bars made with wholegrain flours. Many contain seeds too which are nutritious and low GI.

(I have been munching my way happily through a slice of IKEA apple cake every so often. It's not very sweet. However given amy sugar levels at the moment, a no go area for the time being! Miserable, I tell you.)

They might be "sugar" free but that is not the only thing to look at. The largest component is whole meal flour, which is just sugars in a different form and your body will convert them to sugars.
Test and see how yours reacts to them.
