But why are you eating that fake protein mould Quorn? A novel food, highly processed, linked to gastrointestinal complaints.

ursus262 said:Hi Everyone
Well, it's been three weeks since I got my meter and about the same time, I began low-carbing.
I had zero carbs for breakfasts (meat and cheese); 40g of carbs at lunch with a low GI tortilla wrap (wholemeal) filled with chicken and salad (with lashings of Peri-Peri sauce  ); and at dinner, had salad, or something a bit Quorny with some veg (sans spuds) and some blueberries and Greek yoghourt.. Overall, I guess I'm taking in just under 80g per day now.
What amazes me is the stability of my BG readings, beginning with about 7.5 fasting, 6.x about midday, 6.x mid afternoon (two hours after lunch) dropping to about 5.9ish before dinner. Tend to go to bed showing about 6.x. All this equates to about 5.2% HbA1c so I'm looking forward to a vast improvement on that score when testing time comes.
I suppose I'm looking for a bit of validation really. Am I heading along the right lines? What does everyone else think? Incidentally, I take 2 metformin 500g per day.

Also, the conversion of average BGs to HbA1c is an average-we all have different Glycation rates. I get higher than average A1cs from low average BGs.
