Hey, I was thinking about this the other day since sometimes you really want to get some data when in fact you don't have time to go to the doctors and you need to know if your efforts are in vain or not? Can I test myself for cholesterol, in-house ?

Lloyd's Pharmacies do cholesterol checks although I believe they only test your Total Cholesterol, you can buy home testing kits which test your cholesterol, the cheaper once's test TC as where the more expensive ones will give you a lipid breakdown.
As part of your yearly diabetes check you should get a full lipid breakdown of your cholesterol, you do have to tell the nurse when taking the bloods that you want this done otherwise you could just get the TC reading, remember if you do want a full lipid breakdown you need to fast for the previous 10-12 hours.

Boots sell the home testing kits but the user reviews all agree the kits are a waste of time and money.
