Can intermittent fasting raise insulin levels

There was a study published in medical news today article which talks about how intermittent fasting can cause diabetes. The article was written by Ana Sandoiu. They would not let me post a link in the forum. It easily shows up if you search on google. This scares me. Any viewpoints?

I don’t see the bit where it says intermittent fasting can cause diabetes. It seems to be saying the opposite as the article states that IF may improve insulin resistance. Which is the bit that worried you?
