Hi Everyone,
my name is Donna I’m 56 with Type 2 diabetes. I have a liver Problem diagnosed September 22 after being in hospital for a week the consultants took me off all my diabetic medication and told for the short time eat limited carbs and control my sugars whilst my liver repairs. I was on 2000mg Metformin and 500mg Sitagliptin. I have found this quite difficult but knowing my health was on the line I have mainly been living on homemade veg soup, Ryvita, walnuts and boiled eggs. I have been coping well and my sugar levels have been really good but I also suffer with Fibro and the constant pricking of my fingers have gotten painful so invested in the Freestyle Libre 2 which although expensive has offered some relief with my monitoring. I havent been offered much advice on Type 2 Diabetes although first diagnosed in 2018. a week ago I started feeling pins and needles whilst in bed only and my sight seems a little blurry not constantly, other than that no highs or lows until yesterday I did fit my 2nd Libre sensor and everything seemed ok reading well then Sunday afternoon started to get low sugar detection and its been pretty constant all night even eating 4 small biscuites. I don’t actually feel low in sugars and wondered if anyone else has had this happen. I have lost 5 stone since September 22 so you can tell my diet is pretty restrictive. I’m not one for going to Drs, I have white coat syndrome hoping anyone can help. Thank you.
