Cannot send Private Messages

I have some condescending message in my profile that says I'm new here so I can't send private messages. I'm not well pleased.

Can somebody tell me what I have to do in order to be able to send PMs?
 
I believe you require a few more posts for sending pm's to be available. So that new users signing up with 1 or 2 posts don't send you a million spam private messages. Not sure on the exact number but its not allot.
 
The reason for the rule is so that people must show some substance before they can PM people. In the past people have set up a username and have immediately started to harass people via PM. This is why the rule is in place.

I think it is a fair rule on the whole.

Do you get a lot of harassment at Diabetes UK? Dammit, we're all sick, we should at least try to get along!
 
I for one have had harassment by PM from several newcomers so I think the rule is a good protection for members.
