Hi everyone,

I was fitted with a Paradigm Veo yesterday with saline for training and I am due to go onto insulin tomorrow. However at the time of choosing my pump I did not have the post-op effects of cataract surgery and other eye problems which I have now. Initially I liked the Animas pump and was set to go with it until I read some negative user reviews which put me off it. I love the Animas screen and was is able to see black background with White foreground a lot easier under current circumstances.

Yesterday I was unable to read the screen of the Veo and I'm going to have to inform them tomorrow that it's impractical to use it. I really can't understand why anyone is using green screen LCD displays these days. Mobile phones haven't used them for years so why this new model pump?

I have no idea what will be said but I am feeling very frustrated and upset right now.

I'm not sure I can swap for another after being funded.

Hi there sorry to hear about your troubles surely they will have to give u another pump that y can see otherwise what is the point it would be like giving somebody with no hands an inhaler if you know what i mean. Hopefully they will be sympathetic and helpful

Hopefully you should be abe to change pumps, it may mean a delay while they source it etc, but if you can't see the screen on the Veo then it pretty useless to you...

A lot is down to testing and liecening costs involved, every part of the pump has to be rigously tested for reliablity etc before it gets liecene if any changes or modifications are made to a pump, it got to go through the process of being test and effectively reliecened.. So sticking to the same parts from one pump to another helps to keep the testing costs down..

Mobile phones don't face this problem, they can change at will keeping up with the times..
