Type 1 Can't start my libre 2 sensor

I've had my new phone for a couple of months now and it's worked fine (a bit slow but it's always worked). Tried starting up my new sensor last night but it didn't work. So tried again just now with a new one, and this hasn't worked either. The only thing I think it could possibly be is that my last sensor was started with my reader, but the older ones weren't? Anyone else got any ideas?

I’d call your Abbot customer care service. I’ve always found them to be helpful. Sensors are too expensive not to get the full use from one, much less two. Good luck with it.

Yeah I was planning on calling them tomorrow. Luckily I'm getting them on the NHS so it's not my loss at least. Thanks for the help

For anyone interested, I rang the support team today and they've basically updated the app without letting people know, and now some phones are no longer compatible. Unfortunately mine is one of them. So not sure what I'm going to do, as I don't think using my reader is feasible in the long term, but hopefully I can figure something out. Wish they'd contacted the people effected beforehand though. I also feel like they've now made it less accessible for people with a lower phone budget, as most (if not all) of the compatible devices are the more expensive phones

(Oh and they're sending me 2 replacement sensors for the ones that have now been wasted)

Have you tried reloading app and checking all settings.

Maybe try holding the phone against the sensor for a minute or so (maybe longer). Don't forget it has to calibrate before it works and allow an hour for that to happen.

Sorry bit obvious I know but check all connection setttings ie Bluetooth etc check your phones drive is not too full if still not working uninstall and reinstall, then it's contact support as previously mentioned.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm guessing you didn't see my update above saying that they've taken my phone off the compatible devices list. Thanks anyway though

Hi,

When did you start having issues? I just checked my my librelink app & the app site. The last update build was 15th of November 22.
The “upgrade” seemed to allow for BT integration with the Novopen echo plus?

I know my phone isn’t on the “compatible list” I can’t say I’ve had any issue starting of scanning sensors.

This happening me too. I ended up having to get a new phone as my old phone was no longer supported by Libre 2 even though my old phone was listed compatible.
Libre 2 works fine now on my new B phone but it was an exercise

My last update officially was then. But they said that something had changed or updated not sure what. But it was in the last 3 weeks maybe less (I used my reader for the last sensor so anywhere between 1-3 weeks ago

It's so annoying that they've done this, especially with no warning. Especially at this time of year, as loads of people will have got new phones in the christmas sales or as a present

I believe there was possibly an Android update around then? (Another security patch?) But the new build date for the Librelink app was 15/11/22.

To be fair. I use a 3rd part app for the CGM stuff with the L2. I just use the NFC scan with the librelink app for my endo, he don’t get the other app I use..

That’s what got me - the fact that there was no warning or VP notice - it just stopped reading - a bit dangerous for some of who rely on the readings to keep ourselves safe.

I have been a LibreView Sensor user since August last year. So far I've had 3 Sensors fail two at the start up process and one a week into usage. The customer service support team have always replaced the sensor within 5 working days. Do you have a link for the compatible Android devices? The Support Team have always checked My Device Model and Software Version of the both the phone and App. I only upgraded my Phone in July because I knew I was going down the Sensor Route so will be a bit disappointed if it is not compatible now. I have had some issues scanning my sensor and when my last one failed they actually sent me a Reader. These had apparently been out of stock for the last 4 months.

Most surgeries will not replace faulty sensors. That is left up to you to raise the matter with Abbott. If you do not do this it will be your loss alas.
