Hi

Help Please - I've been a type 1 insulin dependent diabetic for 25 years - wow! I've recently changed my car insurance provider - 2 months ago using a comparison website where I put in the details of my 3 year licence and DVLA aware of my condition - I just noticed today that the insurance document says that I have a full licence and DVLA not aware of my condition - where do I stand? Feeling really cross as always check stuff like this but moving house etc. means I didn't argh!

Any advice/experiences of dealing with car insurance providers much appreciated!

Thanks

Owen

I'd phone them as soon as possible and say they've got your details wrong and ask them to amend them immediately. If they then try to put your premium up, tell/show them you put the correct information on your application.

It shouldn't affect your premium because of the T1D, it certainly hasn't in my experience.

They may however try and hit you with an administrator fee to amend the policy details. You should argue your case however to avoid the charges. Unfortunately there is no way around administration fees, even if you were within your 14 day cooling off period. So here's hoping you get to speak with a friendly customer advisor:)

Grant

You need to ring them and tell them of their error otherwise they could if you were unfortunate to have to make a claim turn round and say ins not valid and it was down to you to check the policy.
