Can anybody tell me if there is a specific amount or range of carbs eaten when following a low/moderate/high carb diet? Not really sure how many I should be eating each day...
this advice can potentially work when taking only oral meds but introducing insulin ( as a type 1 ) does make the answer a bit more complicated. You'd probably get away with next to no carbs at all providing you get your calories from other sources. I don't count carbs, I just reduce them to a minimum by avoiding things like potatoes, rice, bread and cereals and limiting the amount of moderate carb content from vegetables and avoiding high carb fruits.
If you are trying to lower your blood glucose levels the best way to do it is to measure BG before and after meals and see how different foods and quantities affect you.
I'm sure others will pop up here and provided you with details about quantities of carbs related to body weight/weight loss as there are data available.
Sorru I can't be more specific.
