Hello all,

I'm just trying to take more control of my T2 and I'm trying to cut down on carb intake. I thought about 100-150 g per day seems ok - but is it right that whatever it says on the tin, packet, jar etc for carbs in grams is what I should be counting? thanks.

Hi, yes you want to be counting the total carbs, ignore the 'of which sugars'

Are you testing your bg?

I'll tag @daisy1 to provide you with some more info :)

You need to use the packet label & a weighing scales to work out the grams of carbs you are eating. Use the total carbs figure (ignore the bit that says of which sugar) but usually this will be total carbs either for the whole packet or for a portion (which might say half a packet or a third of the packet or 1 biscuit etc) or per 100gm. So you need to be aware that if the total carbs for the packet is 17g, but you are only eating half the packet, you are having 8.2g of carbs etc
