I need some help here with carb counting. And I need an accurate answer from someone on here

Long Story short I have Put on 2 and a half stone on in a matter of 1 month! I was happily 17 stone now im 19 and a half stone!

That means roughly I now weigh around 125 KG from 115 KG somewhere mabe a lil higher

Anyway right now my BGL is 4.6 :)

So let's begin and make this fun.

Pop quizz!

These are the values for
5 biscuits each cookie is 20g
You may use a calculator.

Per 100g
Values

Energy 2095 KJ/500kcal
Fat. 23.2g
Of which Saturates. 11.5g
Carbohydrates 61.9g
Of which Sugars. 29.7g
Fibre. 5.8g
Salt. 0.70g

Using this formula

(You Take 1 unit of Insulin for every 10g of Carbohydrates Consumed)

How Many Units of Insulin would a typical Diabetic need to Eat these 5 cookies?

And explain your answer

Show your working out lol

No sick thing as a typical diabetic! Some are on a 1:50 ratio, some on a 1:1 :) But in this case, it would totally depend on what you’re doing, whether you’re ill, what your levels are, the time of the month and what colour socks you’re wearing. So the 6.2u that should cover those carbs with that ratio would rarely be exactly right...

Hello
Going by your 5 cookies - 20g carbs each, that would 100g carbs. If you are doing 1:10, 100/10 is 10 units.
You are putting on weight because your body is not peeing out all of the glucose like when you are in DKA. But good blood sugars is what you are doing and aiming for.

So 1 cookie = 12.38
(Because 100g = 61.9
so 1g = 0.169
so a 20g cookie = 12.38

I’d you eat 5 cookies that’s 61.9g carbs total

If your ratio is 1u to 10g of carbs that would be 6.19u

I would round and say 6u for 5 cookies.

I may have said it wrong but 6.2 units for 100g of cookies is the answer. I was merely confused by your description. 1:10 is probably the basic ratio but depending on insulin sensitivity, it’ll change
