I find my HbA1c is a pretty bad indicator of how things are going, and MUCH prefer to rely on daily testing.
Obviously this contradicts what Footrest has just said! Doesn't mean that one of us is wrong, it just reflects a different way in which we choose to manage our blood glucose levels, and probably reflects our personal experiences.
Having read about the damage that blood glucose spikes can do, I prefer to keep my blood glucose levels as steady as possible, and by using the Libre and prick testing, I generally manage to keep my blood glucose in my chosen range. It takes some pretty strict carb restriction, but I prefer to do that than risk the spikes that have, over time, started to give me stabbing pains in the soles of my feet and in my fingers when my blood glucose fluctuates too much after carby meals.
Pain avoidance is a pretty good motivator for me to control my diet! lol.
