Carbohydrates with zero sugar

Even lettuce turns to blood glucose.

MFP here can be measured many ways. Cups, grams, ounces, chunk size etc.
Most entries have 5 choices. I always use ounces or grams. Never cup size. I could smash more in hard and eat more calling it less carbs haha. Or just lightly pack it. I find cup size to be ridiculous and very inaccurate. The weight options are much better.

I do think you guys would have to subtract the fiber to get your conversion?

Hi

Where can I download MFP? I can see in iOS AppStore but seems to be Chinese language. Is it the best app where you can check nutritional information for any food in uk?

Crab + avocado = food heaven!

Hope you feel better soon! That cheery new avatar of yours has certainly got Snapsy smiling.

Feeling a bit better after some broth. High school reunion tonight. A drink later should clear things up lol

Your best bet is any major supermarket website. All the products they sell are listed, and all the packaged ones that have nutritional data are detailed with the nutritional data, and you can be sure they are UK labels. For example, I just Googled soya chunks Tesco.

Hi

Does anyone know if carbohydrates food with zero sugar still not good for diabetes?

Regards

Birens - Do you have any foods in mind with this question?

The only things I can think if, off the top of my head, are those containing polyols. Polyols are expressed as carbohydrate on nutritional information, but are not absorbed my our bodies, and thereby have no impact on blood sugar levels. The following link has a very high level explanation of polyols, and I don't suggest this is the best resource out there, but it would give you a starter.

As others have said, carbs do tend to turn to glucose during digestion, so we have to be pretty vigilant, if we are trying to reduce our intake.

I actually like our nutrition labels better. I was told to only deduct half as soluable and insoluable are different. Soluable is questionable if it can be deducted. Most fiber foods have some of each.

For example 6 oz of avocado has 14.5 carbs and 11.5 fiber leaving 3 carbs per U.K. My avocado doesn't act like 3 carbs OR 14.5. It acts somewhere in between more like 5 or 6. On the flip side, veggies act exactly like their carb content without subtracting fiber. They act just like the amount of carbs. 3 oz broccoli spikes me to a point it's not worth it. I need an extra 1/2 unit for a couple small florets even with plenty of fat.

Just my opinion. Different fibers act different. I never subtract fiber from veg. And I only' consider' it with avocado. We all metabolize at different rates and I think veggies are too light for me and just turn to bs no matter what.

Neither here nor there. We're all used to our own scales and work with it as we can.

I DO understand the difference in them though. I would just prefer to SEE the fiber even though it really makes no difference. Just a weird brain thing. One carb raise me about 7 (us of course) regardless of fiber. I think I just convert everything to bs way too fast. Especially without my beloved avocado.

Polyols, maltitol in specific, have a definite impact not only on my blood sugar but on my digestive system. Erythritol does not. I think each individual needs to test to find out the effect on them personally.
