hi, if i don't fancy anything to eat in the morning, what do i do?

Do i A) no food, no injection?
B) no injection and food which doesn't contain carbs? Which are?......
C) anyone got any ideas?
any advice would be useful.
Thanks

for me, having breakfast and my qa insulin does give me a boost for the day. If I have breakfast and qa, any amount depending on food, my lunchtime ratio is 1/15, miss breakfast my lunchtime ratio is 1/9. Starts the body working in my case. Longer I go without food, more qa I need when I eat. But if you don't fancy anything no food~ no qa insulin. You will still need your basal insulin at your usual time and should stay steady with no food and no qa. If you do fancy some food but don't want qa ie carb free, depending what you have and portion size, may need a reduced qa insulin amount still

Google Dawn Phenomenon. You may find your blood sugars rise for a couple of hours after waking, so you may need some quick acting insulin even without breakfast. The main thing is to test your blood sugars,a and not overdose and have a hypo.

I don't eat for a few hours after waking up half the time. My levemir I take in the morning keeps me stable and if I don't eat anything until midday my sugars are fine due to the long acting. Have you tried basal testing?

Much as Charles has explained I'd get a rise in bg levels if I skipped breakfast and didn't take QA insulin.

If on a pump, easier to combat the dp, so skipping breakfast allows me to not need any qa to combat it. Think its normal to have a rise early hours, but harder for diabetics obviously. still, skipping a meal results in me needing more qa at next meal. Those not pumping, and also having dp, can combat it by adjusting qa accordingly as above. some may need some if missing a meal others may not, but, keeping records if unsure how your body will react its always a good idea. you may find a pattern to allow to adjust your qa, and how it affects you for the rest of the day.
